                                             STAGING CLOSETS...Really?

                              EXPERTS' NOTES

It’s important to show off your space inside and out!  Remember, buyers will look inside every space because they want to know how much storage space your home has. Many times we see rooms that look great, but the closets are packed. When a buyer sees a spacious, organized and even aesthetic closet, instead of a pile of clothes, it will leave a good impression and they will remember it!

Because you are moving anyway, what better time to pare down your belongings.  Get rid of what you no longer wear, fit into or need.

Utilize vertical space

Look how much room is in this closet, show off your space!

Here are some tips for a clothes closet to keep in mind:

1.  Pack away seasonal clothes, making more room for what you are currently wearing

2.  Consider donating or selling items that you can part with.

3.  Keep a donation box very accessible so when you have a garment to donate it can be put there immediately.

4.  Containerize similar accessories such as scarves, bathing suits and use colorful or attractive containers.

5.  Use wood, plastic or sturdy hangars rather than wire making a neat cohesive look.

6.  When you buy something new, get rid of something old

7.  Use your vertical space efficiently; consider hooks, hangars, shelves, etc.

8.  Keep loose items off floor by using shoe racks and baskets, hanging shelves

9.  Add decorative touches, (hang or display favorite hats or purses).

10. Make sure your closet is bright with sufficient light and is in good repair! A bright color of fresh paint on the walls can work wonders!.
